How to use AgentBio AI
Open AgentBio AI, provide the required inputs, run Demo to preview the workflow, then switch off Demo when a live key is configured.
Getting Started
I open the AgentBio AI web app and locate the input form on the landing page. The form asks for three pieces of information: the agent's name, the primary role the agent will play, and a short list of key traits that define the agent's voice. I type the name exactly as it will appear in public profiles, for example "Alex Support". I then choose a role from the dropdown menu such as "Customer Support Representative" or "Technical Advisor". Finally I add three to five traits like "empathetic", "concise", "knowledgeable about product X". After filling these fields I click the Demo button at the bottom of the form. The app switches to a preview mode where a sample bio is generated in real time. I watch the preview update as I edit any field, which helps me see the impact of each change instantly.
Defining Agent Persona
Name and Role Selection
I treat the name as the first trust signal. I avoid nicknames that could confuse users and I keep the role specific to the function the agent will perform. If the agent will handle billing inquiries I select "Billing Specialist" rather than a generic "Support Agent". This specificity helps the underlying model produce language that matches the expected domain.
Trait Input Guidelines
For each trait I write a single word or a short phrase. I avoid full sentences because the parser splits on commas and treats each entry as an independent attribute. I pick traits that are observable in conversation: "patient", "clear", "friendly". I do not add contradictory traits such as "formal" and "casual" in the same list because the model may produce inconsistent tone.
Saving a Persona Template
After I am satisfied with the preview I click the Save Template button. The app stores the current inputs under a label I provide, for example "Support_Alex". I can later load this template from the Templates dropdown to reuse the same persona for multiple agents without re-entering the data.
Configuring Trust Signals
Length Target
I set the desired bio length to between 80 and 120 characters. This range fits well in most UI components such as chat headers or profile cards while still giving enough space to convey credibility. I adjust the length slider until the preview shows a bio that does not get truncated in the target container.
Tone Adjustment
I use the Tone selector to shift the output toward either formal or conversational. For a support agent I choose a slightly conversational tone but keep it professional. I then read the preview aloud to detect any stiffness or excessive slang.
Keyword Inclusion
I add a small list of domain-specific keywords that I want the bio to mention explicitly, such as "PCI-DSS compliant" or "24/7 availability". I enter these keywords in the Optional Keywords field separated by commas. The model tries to weave them into the generated sentence without sacrificing readability.
Running Validation Checks
Before I consider the bio ready for publishing I run three validation checks that address common safety concerns. Each check references a public cheat sheet to guide my review.
Prompt Injection Safety
I consult the OWASP LLM Prompt Injection Prevention Cheat Sheet (https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/cheatsheets/LLM_Prompt_Injection_Prevention_Cheat_Sheet.html) to verify that the bio does not contain instructions that could hijack the model. I look for any phrasing that looks like a command such as "ignore previous instructions" or "you must". If I see such text I edit the inputs to remove ambiguous wording.
SQL Injection Safety
Although the bio is plain text I still run a quick scan using the OWASP SQL Injection Prevention Cheat Sheet (https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/cheatsheets/SQL_Injection_Prevention_Cheat_Sheet.html) as a habit. I check for patterns like single quotes followed by SQL keywords (SELECT, UNION, DROP). Finding none confirms that the bio is safe to store in any backend that might later concatenate it into a query.
Secrets Management
I review the OWASP Secrets Management Cheat Sheet (https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/cheatsheets/Secrets_Management_Cheat_Sheet.html) to ensure that no API keys, passwords, or tokens have slipped into the bio. I scan the preview for strings that resemble a key (long alphanumeric strings with high entropy). If any appear I regenerate the bio after clearing the Optional Keywords field.
Validation Table
Check | Reference | What I Look For Prompt Injection | OWASP Prompt Injection Cheat Sheet | Hidden commands, jailbreak phrases SQL Injection | OWASP SQL Injection Cheat Sheet | Quote-SQL keyword patterns Secrets Leak | OWASP Secrets Management Cheat Sheet | High-entropy strings resembling keys
Exporting and Publishing
Export Formats
When the preview looks correct I click the Export button. The app offers three formats: plain text, JSON, and HTML snippet. I choose plain text for copying into chat widgets, JSON for API integration, and HTML snippet when I need to embed the bio directly into a web page with basic styling.
Review Workflow
I paste the exported bio into a staging environment where the agent will run. I ask a colleague to read the bio out loud and note any awkward phrasing or missing information. If feedback indicates a mismatch between the bio and the agent's actual behavior I return to the input form, adjust the traits or keywords, and regenerate.
Go-Live Checklist
- Confirm Demo mode is turned off (the toggle shows "Live Key Active"). - Verify that the bio length fits the target UI component. - Run the three validation checks again on the final bio. - Save the final version as a template for future agents. - Document the date and reviewer name in a simple changelog.
Automating with Config Files
For teams that need to generate many agent bios I store the input values in a YAML file and reference it through the agents-squads configuration guide (https://docs.agents-squads.com/guides/config-files). The file contains a list of objects, each with name, role, traits, length, tone, and keywords. I run the provided CLI tool which reads the file, calls the AgentBio AI API for each object, and writes the output to a folder named bios/. This approach removes the need to open the UI repeatedly and ensures that every bio follows the same validation steps.
Example Config Entry
- name: "Alex Support" role: "Customer Support Representative" traits: - empathetic - concise - knowledgeable about product X length: 100 tone: "conversational" keywords: - "PCI-DSS compliant" - "24/7 availability"
What this is NOT
I do not guarantee that the generated bio will be perfect for every use case. The output is a decision-support draft; you must review it before publishing. I do not claim a 100% success rate in avoiding all possible prompt injection vectors, nor do I promise that the bio will never miss a required legal disclaimer. The tool assists the workflow but does not replace human judgment.
Operator checklist for How to use AgentBio AI
I keep a written checklist next to every release that touches this topic. The list is boring on purpose: name the owner, name the evidence artifact, and name the rollback. If a step cannot produce a file, a ticket, or a log line, it is not a step - it is a wish.
Before you change production
- Freeze the branch or config revision you will measure against. - Record the current failure mode with one concrete input and one concrete output. - Confirm which identity the job runs as, and whether that identity can reach data it should not. - Open the primary references you will cite: https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/cheatsheets/LLM_Prompt_Injection_Prevention_Cheat_Sheet.html, https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/cheatsheets/SQL_Injection_Prevention_Cheat_Sheet.html.
While you run the check
- Prefer one reproducible path over ten anecdotal screenshots. - Write the expected safe outcome before you trigger the tool or query. - Capture the exact command, prompt, schema, or regex under test - not a paraphrase. - If the system can act (send, write, delete, transfer), require a confirmation boundary in the same pass.
After you finish
- File residual risk with an owner and a date, even when the scan is clean. - Do not convert a green check into sales language that claims completeness. - Re-run the same checklist when the model, tool schema, or validation rules change.
Signal | What to record | Stop-ship? Unexpected write or send | Tool name, args, identity | Yes until gated Missing confirmation on destructive action | Call path and bypass | Yes Untrusted text treated as instruction | Source surface and resulting action | Yes for agent reach Scanner clean, judgment open | Deferred items + owner | Only if core path safe
agentbio-ai helps with the measurable first pass. Architecture choices, legal sign-off, and customer-facing claims still need a human owner. Treat every checklist row as decision support, not a certificate.
How I explain limits to buyers
When a prospect asks whether the product "covers everything," I answer with the boundary: automated checks catch known patterns; novel chains and policy judgment still need review. That honesty keeps support load down and keeps the blog aligned with what the product actually does.
If you need a second opinion, pair this write-up with the references below and with your own staging reproduction. Do not skip the reproduction step just because a model wrote a confident summary.
